TRACY's POST: eight days till calculus final.

Did you guys ever take math in college? Kelly and I are both taking the loathsome subject, though mine is a Business math class called "Intuitive" Calculus. What, in the good name of the English language, is intuitive about calculus?!

KELLY'S POST: "Colder than the coldest winter was cold" Dandy Warhols

It's getting way too cold here, way too soon.  When we go out to take pictures we have big winter coats on that we take off when it's our turn.  Needless to say photo sessions are at a rushed pace so the one getting their picture done doesn't freeze.  Anyone watching us would think we are absolutley mad. :)

TRACY'S POST: Sometimes, the camera is your friend.

Considering how unruly my eyebrows truly were, sometimes (and only sometimes), the camera is your bff. That, paired with my increasingly Hermione-esque mane, lends to the miracle that is Kelly's camera. How I don't resemble Chewbacca is beyond me.

My all-time-FAVORITE blazer: UO (thrifted)
One-of-four-plaid-items-I-own blouse: Kimchi Blue (thrifted)
Random Payless heels, because I felt dicey that day.
Awesome socks: Walmart!

And as any frugalista should know, Thanksgiving just wouldn't be the same without the Friday after. :)

HAPPY BLACK FRIDAY!!!

TRACY'S POST: shades of brown

While Kelly may have an issue with wearing shades of black, my color of weakness is brown. It's a subdued hue that is taken for granted, and ultimately, I wear too much of it.

KELLY'S POST: "I get by with a little help from my friends" The Beatles

I saw this shirt while shopping in an amazing little thrift store in Athens, Ohio called Athens Underground.  I was there with my friend Jackie (over at Simple Hiatus ), and I was on the fence about buying it because it was just a simple t-shirt, but I did really love the pin-up girl on the front (I'm sure you can't read it but it also says "Create a Scandal."  The girl is lounging on the S.). In the end I didn't buy it (regretting it later), however that Christmas this shirt did indeed make it's way to me via my friend (thanks Jackie!).  Also, I punched up this simple tee with a pair of scissors, cutting off the collar and a strip down the front to add a little punk to this 1950's pin-up.  Additionally, this skirt is actually my mod cloth dress from a few posts back.  I just tucked the top in to transform it into a skirt.

TRACY'S POST: I have a perfectly reasonable explanation for all of this,

Our internet has always been shaky at best, continually on the fritz and never quite making up it's mind on whether it wants to be on or off. It never fails on a Thursday night, ironically.

KELLY'S POST: "All in all it was just a brick in the wall." Pink Floyd

As the shirt was thrifted, the sleeves weren't quite long enough.  Thus, in an attempt to be creative and not to look my arms were too long, I rolled them up with the sweater.   However now that I look at these pictures I do realize it is a bit wrinkled :)

TRACY'S POST: Poor Dorothy would have been confused.

Kelly and I have had one busy week, and the weekend has barely begun! Oi, we're too old to be typical college kids, we can't wait for Sunday to arrive!

Ah, yes. I'm one of those guilty ones, those who shop when they're upset. Shoes and cardigans, stress-relievers? Say it isn't so.

KELLY'S POST: "Get a rock and roll feeling in your bones, Put taps on your toes, and get goin' Get rhythm, When you get the blues!" Johnny Cash

On a trip downtown, we came across an old barbershop that had closed and went round back.  It looked like at one point their had been an addition to the building that had been knocked down, leaving this this unfinished bit of wall on the outside.  Anyway,on what I'm wearing,  a dress and vest together is one of my go-to outfits that I use when I just need something I know looks good together and I'll be comfortable in.

TRACY'S POST: me? wearing flares?! no.

It was a lazy day, that day: the only remarkable thing about these pictures I should note are the jeans. I haven't worn a pair of non-skinnies in about three years. So when I bought these tjmaxx flares, two things occurred to me:

1., I don't look nearly as bad in them as I thought I would,
2., not surprisingly, they're about six inches too long.

KELLY'S POST: "Time may change me, but I cant trace time" David Bowie

When I found this leopard print shirt/jumper it had a plastic chain across the front and I'm fairly certain it was supposed to be a little girl dress.  In the end I made it my own.

TRACY'S POST: I suffer through bangles because of this blog.

I don't mean to, but I hardly wear jewelry. I love necklaces, and earrings, and bangles, but sometimes I simply forget and can't be bothered (As a business major, I have to be careful about my outfits. People will call me out if they think I'm too dressed up for school.). I cannot stand those thin bracelets I'm wearing, however. They jingle, jangle, fall off, and generally just disturb the peace of anyone within a mile radius.

Kelly, on the other hand...

Halloween weekend was... interesting...

Three pictures of us were taken from my iPhone; of those three, this was the only one that wasn't blurred, or consumed with wrongly-placed closed eyes, awkward expressions or double chins.

Right, so, Kelly barely tolerated this entire venture, but we were both good sports throughout the evening and even were a part of this crowded outside-dance-party, with people dancing sporadically, and in the process spilling beer all over me (Me. Kelly, or so she was told, is intimidating when wearing heels).

TRACY'S POST: new layout!

 new layout (:
Kelly and I were sick of all the black!

So, on to Halloween.
Kelly and I drove an hour in order to shop at the closest Forever XXI,
and while she bought a black dress to be a flapper girl for this weekend,
I saw this aviatrix-inspired jacket and decided,

Go ahead, Tracy. Be a long-haired Amelia Earhart.

KELLY'S POST: "Someone told me it's all happening at the zoo. I do believe it, I do believe it's true" Simon & Garfunkel

Found these photos from the Brookfield Zoo in Brookfield Illinois.  Looks like the animals there and really into Halloween!
